Welcoming 2009
Bible verses from Pastor Lily during last nights watch night service, for year 2009.
Isaiah 35 (New King James Version)
1 The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;
2 It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, The excellency of our God.
3 Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees.
4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted,
“Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert.
7 The parched ground shall become a pool, And the thirsty land springs of water; In the habitation of jackals, where each lay, There shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
8 A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray.
9 No lion shall be there, Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it; It shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk there,
10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

DUMC Children's Church Musical
21 Dec 2008. Sunday after church, I brought my family to DUMC Dream Centre at Section 13 for their Children's Church Christmas musical "A King Is Coming To Town". Thanks to Marilyn's tai cherr for the invitation.
Pictures taken with my handphone camera K800i, without flash and without zoom.
Pictures: Top-left to right. Children's Church leading worship with the children's band, funny acts by the clowns, and DUMC TV journalist in the musical play.
Bottom-left to right. Musical play featuring the king of rock and roll.. Elvis, king of the jungle and king (Queen) Yuu Chien speaking in her best Singlish.
DUMC was a good host, with light food before the musical. There was even a party pack for the kids after the show.
We met Pastor Joy and Abraham and their children there.
At the end there was an alter call for children and parents who want to accept Jesus into their hearts. What surprised me was that Ashley put up her hand as well, and she went out with her mei mei to be prayed for.

There were Christmas song presentations from around the world, from China, India, Japan to Ghana, to Brazil and back home in Malaysia. Great songs and dances.

Sunday Service (24.08.2008)
We had a good worship service yesterday.
Stephanie lead the worship, with Joshua Ong, Daphne, Sheila and Rosalyn as her backup singers. Musicians were Joanne, Emmanuel and Alex. Good job team.
I really enjoyed the worship and prayers yesterday, eventhough I was on duty as an SE.
Pastor Dexter and Lily are back from their travels.
Joshua and Linda Sim and their 2 children came from Singapore to join us for our service. Joshua is Pastor Nicholas' son.
Guess who came in all the way from down under to join us for worship. A few of us saw him walked in, but others only knew he was with us when he prayed out loudly during worship.
Here he is sharing about his and his family's adventure in Australia. Good to see you Samuel.
Flower arrangement from aunty Sally, as usual she did a wonderful and beautiful arrangement.

Organized Sound System
Big thank you to both Andrew and his crew Zam for reorganizing the sound system and cabling last night in VVC before music practice.
Looks very neat and professionally done. I would never have though to tie the cables like this.
Now we should all be more organized and put things in order, not only at home, in the office but also in VVC. Cheers!

RSS (Rich Site Summary) In Church
First lets find our what is RSS. What is RSS? (From www.whatisrss.com)
RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.
Why RSS? Benefits and Reasons for using RSS
RSS solves a problem for people who regularly use the web. It allows you to easily stay informed by retrieving the latest content from the sites you are interested in. You save time by not needing to visit each site individually. You ensure your privacy, by not needing to join each site's email newsletter. The number of sites offering RSS feeds is growing rapidly and includes big names like Yahoo News.
This is the RSS logo.
... and this is Stephanie's spectacles.
See the resemblance? Steph's RSS specs has more curves in it. She must be getting live feeds from heaven when she wears her specs.

Music Practice: Photo Combo (2.7.2008)
See any changes? See it live on Sunday.
Its time for change, change for the better. Lets work together to bring glory to the Lord, not only in our worship, playing of music instruments, but other areas where we are called to serve.
I have seen changes for the past few weeks. From 2 speakers to 4 speaker. Now in a church near you, 6 speakers.
More space for the musicians to dance. More space for the singers to dance too. Better sound setup, I can say it is more balanced.
Thanks again to Andrew Coomby for his help and expertise in setting up the sound systems and the musicians and singers area. We are truly blessed to have you with us.
