Holiday In Penang On Tuesday 26.8.2008? Permatang Pauh By-Election
How are the majority of the rakyat in Permatang Pauh going to vote in the by-election on Tuesday 26 August. It is a working day.
The BN govtman is soooo "clever", shows that they have their hands on the Election Commission's decision to set the date on a Tuesday.
Now it is up to the Penang state govt to do something about it.

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has not ruled out the possibility of declaring a state holiday next Tuesday to allow voters to cast their ballots in the Permatang Pauh by-election.
"Currently, the state government is not planning to declare Tuesday as a public holiday unless we have to,” he told reporters at a press conference today. "But we are not closing the door on this subject either, in case Barisan Nasional comes up with sudden tactics to stop voters from coming out to vote.”...

Hospital Pusrawi today clarified that its medical officer Dr Muhammad Osman Abdul Hamid did not conduct a sodomy-related examination on Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.
The hospital revealed that Muhammad, a Burmese national, is not a specialist but only a general practitioner stationed at the Emergency Unit.

"The situation now is that everybody knows about this medical report and while an invasion of doctor-patient confidentiality has occurred, it’s regrettable, but you cannot run away from the fact that it’s now very clear that there is no sodomy involved," he stressed.

The doctor said that the patient had alleged he was assaulted by the intrusion of a piece of "plastic" in the anus.
