Danger:Federal Highway/Jalan Kerinchi

There is another danger spot at the turn off from Federal Highway to Jalan Kerinchi. A stretch of steel barrier has collapsed due to an accident or due to wear and tear. It has been the case for the last few months.

Add Image

I can't remember if this was the result of a bus accident The Star: Bus falls off flyover, more than 20 passengers hurt in July 2009.

What is DBKL going to do about this?

Danger: Over Federal Highway

There is a gaping hole in the steel fence barrier over the Federal Highway at the EPF-UH flyover in between Jalan University and Jalan Gasing.

I noticed a similar hole in the steel barrier at the Amcorp Mall interchange over the Federal Highway, between Jalan Utara and Jalan Timur. It has since been repaired after many months of being a danger to pedestrians and motorists.

Someone could fall through the hole unto the highway below. Who is responsible to do the repairs, MBPJ? Will the authorities only repair it after some tragedy has happened?

New Underpasses On Jalan Cheras

New underpasses were opened a few days ago. Two are at the Jalan Cheras/Jalan Loke Yew roundabout and one at the Jalan Cheras/Taman Len Seng interchange. Some photos taken today at the latter's underpass.

Underpasses to help ease congestion in Jalan Cheras
Friday April 16, 2010

The Jalan Cheras/Taman Len Seng project was constructed in a move to alleviate traffic congestion when coming out of Kajang to Kuala Lumpur/Petaling Jaya while easing traffic movement from the surrounding residential estates to enter or exit Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya.

Built at a cost of RM77mil, the project involved construction of a flyover crossing Jalan Cheras for traffic flow from KL and PJ to Taman Len Seng and Taman Orkid Desa, two tunnels (two-lane) for traffic heading from Kajang to Petaling Jaya, the upgrading of Jalan 1/144A junction, and the upgrading of Jalan Cheras and roads leading into Taman Len Seng and Kg Sungai Midah.

This is the longest or tallest roti tissue we ever had. You can get it at Uncle K Kopitiam in Jaya One, PJ.

TweetBlog:Follow up on my refund

I just called Perodua. The service advisor was going to call me today.

The refund is not ready. The week before last they told me it will be ready last week. Till today, it is not and I was informed it will be ready for collection by this week.

I will have to send the car in again to check the brakes. No shaking of the steering wheel when I brake, that has been solved. Now when I brake, there are sounds coming from the wheels.

Sigh! Makes me think twice about buying cars from Perodua in the future.

English:Than/Then

When comparing one thing with another you may find that one is more appealing “than” another.

Than” is the word you want when doing comparisons. But if you are talking about time, choose “then“:“First you separate the eggs; then you beat the whites.” Alexis is smarter than I, not “then I.”

Perodua, where is my refund?

More than a week has passed and the Perodua service advisor or customer care has not called me regarding the refund for the additional cost of the acoustic insulator added to my February car service invoice.

Must I as a customer call them? This is not the first time I have to call and remind them. This is not good customer service.

Lunch @ O&S, Paramount, PJ

My colleagues and I went to O&S Restaurant in Paramount PJ last Friday for lunch.

I had to buy Pisang Goreng after eating the noodle.

Muhyiddin's April Fool’s joke?

Kit Siang: Muhyiddin is an April Fool’s joke
Friday April 1, 2010

DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang continued his tirade against Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s declaration that he was a “Malay first”, saying it has dismantled Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s 1 Malaysia and turned the concept into an April Fool’s joke.

Earlier in the day, Najib said he saw nothing wrong with his deputy’s statement.

“I feel very sorry for the Prime Minister that his signature concept of 1 Malaysia, as the sixth prime minister of Malaysia, has been torn to smithereens by his deputy just on the eve of his first anniversary as Prime Minister on Saturday on 3rd April,” Lim told reporters in Parliament today.

“In fact, thanks to Muhyiddin, Najib’s 1 Malaysia concept has been turned nationwide into an April fool’s joke, as today is April 1,” the Ipoh Timur MP added.

Muhyiddin said yesterday that he considered himself a “Malay first,” and only then a Malaysian, in response to a challenge issued by the veteran opposition leader.

Lim had challenged Muhyiddin to state that he was Malaysian first, and Malay second to prove that he did indeed believe in the concept of 1 Malaysia which had been Barisan Nasional’s “unifying” slogan under the leadership of Najib....

TweetBlog: 01.04.2010: Change Car Disc-Brake (Update)

Collected my car from the service centre yesterday evening. The disc-brake was skimmed and brake pad changed. There was no charges, as the car is still under warranty.

I will be refunded for the Acoustic Insulator which I was charged during the last car service in February. I bought this part in year 2007, which is installed on the car bonnet.

TweetBlog: 01.04.2010: Change Car Disc-Brake

Sent my car in this morning to the Perodua service center to change the car's disc-brake. Everytime I brake hard, the steering wheel will vibrate and sometimes the whole car shakes.

The service adviser said since the car is still under warranty (extended warranty), they will replace the disc-brake for free.

Things to be done today:
. Replace disc-brake
. Skimming
. Replace disc-pad

History:
Feb 2010: I informed the service adviser on 7 February before Chinese New Year when I sent my car in for its normal service, and since they did not have the parts, they had to order it and will call me when it arrives.

Mac 2010: It has been more than a month and I did not receive any follow up call. I called on 8 March, and was told he forgot and will call me back. I contacted Perodua customer service this week, and than the service adviser called me back. Set an appointment today to have the disc-brake replaced.
