Twice, now, the government has used the same tactic in an effort to politically destroy Anwar Ibrahim.
In the process, however, it is damaging its own credibility at home and abroad. The means exist for the government to allow this situation to be quickly resolved, simultaneously restoring dignity to Anwar Ibrahim and to itself.

Hospital Pusrawi today clarified that its medical officer Dr Muhammad Osman Abdul Hamid did not conduct a sodomy-related examination on Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.
The hospital revealed that Muhammad, a Burmese national, is not a specialist but only a general practitioner stationed at the Emergency Unit.

"The situation now is that everybody knows about this medical report and while an invasion of doctor-patient confidentiality has occurred, it’s regrettable, but you cannot run away from the fact that it’s now very clear that there is no sodomy involved," he stressed.

Royal Commission of Inquiry report: Dr M and 5 others to face probe
PUTRAJAYA: The Cabinet has agreed that investigations be made on all allegations levelled against former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and five others identified in the Royal Commission of Inquiry report on the V.K. Lingam video clip.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Mohd Zaid Ibrahim said the five others are lawyer Datuk V.K. Lingam, tycoon Tan Sri Vincent Tan, Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, and former chief justices Tun Eusoff Chin and Tun Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim.

Zaid said the six would be investigated on offences under the Sedition Act, Official Secrets Act and the Penal Code, which included obstruction of justice.

The Royal Commission was formed to verify the authenticity of the videotape purportedly showing Lingam on the phone brokering judicial appointments with a senior judge. Twenty-one witnesses testified in the 17-day inquiry starting on Jan 14

Heaven or Hell
I received this joke from a colleague, timely with the Malaysia general election round the corner.VOTE WISELY IN THE COMING ELECTION
While walking down the street one day a Malaysian Boleh Minister is tragically hit by a truck and dies.
His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.
"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."
"No problem, just let me in," says the man.
"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."
"Really, I have made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Yang Berhormat
"I'm sorry, but we have our rules," says St. Peter.
And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.
Everyone is very happy and dressed in the finest batik there is. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They play a friendly game of golf and then indulge themselves on lobsters, caviar and the most expensive food there is.
Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go.
Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises.
The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St.Peter is waiting for him.
"Now it' s time to visit heaven."
So, 24 hours pass with the Yang Berhormat joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and
singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St.Peter returns.
"Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity."
The Yang Berhormat reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I am better off in hell."
So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in themiddle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.
He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.
The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder.
"I don't understand," stammers the Yang Berhormat. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar,drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"
The devil looks at him, smiles and says, "Yesterday we were campaigning just like you during an election...... Today you voted."

MALACCA: The state DAP will unleash its secret weapon -- a lion dance troupe -- today in an attempt to lure votes from the Chinese community for the coming general election.
State DAP chairman Goh Leong San said the troupe would go house to house, as well as commercial areas.
"At the moment, 80 per cent of our machinery has been activated and mobilised," he said when met here yesterday.
Goh is the Bandar Hilir state assemblyman, one of the two state seats held by DAP for almost 40 years. The other seat is Kota Laksamana, held by Betty Chew Gek Cheng since 1999.
"We will put our candidates in two parliamentary seats and six state seats for the coming general election.
"We have submitted the list of candidates to the party headquarters and they will decide on the candidates.
"There are new candidates who are lawyers, engineers and businessmen," he said.
DAP is aiming to retain Bandar Hilir and Kota Laksamana, as well as trying to wrest Bachang, Kesidang, Duyong, Ayer Keroh and Telok Mas state seats. It is also working hard to reclaim its former stronghold of Kota Melaka parliamentary seat.
Among the new faces, mainly professionals, are Damian Yeo Shen Li, Lai Chuin Ping and Koo Wei Han and Chua See Mua.
Former Kota Melaka MP, Lim Guan Eng, also DAP secretary-general, is also tipped to be the candidate who would try to recapture the seat.
Despite speculations that Lim would be contesting in Penang, some state DAP leaders preferred him to contest in Kota Melaka, the party stronghold that fell into Barisan Nasional's hands in the last general election.
Former DAP secretary-general Kerk Kim Hock lost to BN's Wong Chai Nee by a slim 219 votes in 2004.

I am parent of Form 1 student of Sek Men Taman Hi-Tech in Kulim.
I attended the school Sports Day yesterday (Feb. 4) and I am just shocked at what I saw.
The Malaysian government started the National Service Program, with the objective of racial integration, my foot. That 3-month stint is just a show to make money when the situation in schools are totally different.
This is what I saw yesterday.
Very few Indians participated in the sports event
Indians are supposed to be good in running, but there were very few, I asked the boys. And they said the reason is because the final selection was done on Thaipusam Day. Although it was not a public holiday, Indians took leave and went to temples that day. The school purposely chose that day to select the final participants. That was purposely done.
March Past
It was racially divided. The army/police cadet was 100% Malays whereas Cadet Bomba was 100% non-Malays.The army cadet uniform was perfect, 100% given, whereas the Bomba was crazy, some wore T-Shirts, different kinds of shoes because all the cost need to be borne by the parents. Why?
I really felt very saddened at what happened. It is a rubbish to say the Education Ministry is looks into ways to integrate the races, but in fact they are purposely segregating them.
Is this what the government say ‘We care for all races, we are fair to all’????
