Half Day Leave.... Yesterday

I took 1/2 day leave yesterday and brought my family to the Mines Shopping Fair for some window shopping.

I was looking for a pair of white long pants for this coming Sunday, but to no avail.

Also took the opportunity to browse for a laptop, yes I am planning to get a new personal laptop, not only for my use, but also for Marilyn who can use it for Children Ministry classes. Still looking.

I have not been to the Mines for quite sometime. It is now brighter (except for Giant, which is still dimly lit) and seems more organized with new shops. The parking system is more convenient, with red and green lights above the parking lot to signify if the lot is available or not.

19 July 2009: Family Dinner

We had our dinner at Home Taste Fish Head Restaurant in Bandar Mahkota Cheras last Sunday.

Ordered the set dinner of 5 dishes at RM48, excluding rice and drinks.

The set consist of...
. Seaweed soup
. Long beans
. Steam fish
. Sweet sour chicken
. Steam eggs

The steam fish tasted so much better than (nevermind the different type of fish) what we had at Restaurant 88 4 July 2009: 88 Fish Head Seafood Restaurant.

For around RM58, including the drinks, rice and peanuts it is worth the price.

21 June 2009: Father's Day

We reached home in the evening from Melaka and went to the Kim's Korean BBQ Restaurant in Bandar Mahkota Cheras to celebrate Father's day with our family.

The restaurant is located in Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Jalan Temenggong 9/9, over seeing the playground.

20 - 21 June 2009: Melaka

On the way back from JB after visiting my grandma, Marilyn and I stopped over for a night in Melaka and put up a night in brother Matthew's home.

Before going to there house, we had dinner at Makko Nyonya Restaurant in Melaka Raya. Had chicken ponteh (aunty Yeo's ponteh is much much more delicious), assam fish (the assam fish at Bukit Tinggi Village is so much better) :-P and kangkung belacan (nice).

After dinner we walked in Dataran Pahlawan while waiting for Matthew and family to reach home.

Next day before church at Melaka church we went to have a dim sum breakfast.

In church, we celebrated Father's day, James and Bee Geok's children's birthday and a farewell prayer for Michael who is going to Sarawak to further his studies.

Father's day poem by the youths.

Performance by the Twin ballerinas.

We watch Terminator Salvation at Melaka Mall (opposite Jusco) with Matt, Peggy and Paul. Cool movie.

Thanks Matt for you and your family's hospitality and love to us.

Loving brother and sister.

18 - 20 June 2009 Johor Bharu

I took two days off last week from work, and together with Marilyn we visited my grandmother in Johor Bharu.

She was admitted in the hospital the previous week and when I arrived at my grandma's house on Thursday night, she was already discharged from the hospital and was in her room at home.

Visited her for 3 days, Thursday to Saturday.

She needs help to get in and out of bed, to get cleaned, bath and changed.

Pray that she will get stronger and for my uncles and aunties to continue to have the strength, patience and love while caring for her.

Family Trip To Sepang

On labour day last week, my family and I went to Bagan Lalang, Sepang for a night. We stayed in our "holiday" home in Pantai Sepang Putra.

The kids had fun in the plastic swimming pool.

We had dinner at Restoran Bagan Lalang Seaview, Bagan Lalang. You can't really see the sea. I had to cross the road and walk on the beach to catch a bit of the sunset.

There were lots of vehicles and people that evening in Bagan Lalang, due to the 1st May holiday. All the restaurants and eating places were crowded.

Dinner...
(Clockwise, from Top-left) Sweet sour fish which was supposed to be "not" spicy for the kids, but it was; ikan bakar; sotong goreng and kangkung.

One more vegetable dish did not arrive, so we cancelled it.

Breakfast the next day after checking out from our holiday home.

Restoran Sungai Pelek serves dim dum for breakfast only during the weekends.

We headed home after breakfast.

My Sunday 26.04.2009

I brought my family to Kanna Curry house for breakfast before Church service. Promised my kids that I will bring them to eat roti on Sunday.

Had to leave them there to finish their breakfast as I was late for pre-service rehearsal with the Tribe band. I was very very late. Sorry fellow Tribe Band.

After service, we headed to Jaya One for lunch. Yes just me and my family. Had lunch at Jaya Noodle House. The last time I ate at this restaurant was when they were still at Jaya supermarket (which is now closed for redevelopment).

They still have the same tables and orange chairs from the old place.

The kids had wontan noodle with charsiew, Marilyn had the suey kow, and I had the Hainanese kai fun. The price for the food is on the high side, my kai fun was RM7.90.

Wanted to eat there for 'nostalgic' sake.

My Hainanese kai fun...

*They have Wifi too, but I am not sure it they provide power supply for your laptop batteries.

To end the day, we had sandwiches (any combination of sandwich, ham, tuna and/or eggs), salad and mushroom soup for dinner at home. We bought the ingredients from Cold Storage after lunch.
