DAP fields five new faces in Malacca

MALACCA: DAP is infusing new blood in its bid to win two parliamentary and eight state seats here.

Former state DAP chairman Sim Tiong Him will take on "giant killer" Wong Nai Chee for the Kota Melaka seat, a DAP stronghold for 35 years before the Barisan Nasional won it in 2004.

One of the five new faces, Tan Lay Siang, 42, will seek to unseat Datuk Seri Fong Chan Onn in the Alor Gajah parliamentary seat.

At the state level, state DAP chairman Goh Leong San has moved from his "fort" in Bandar Hilir to take on Datuk Koh Nai Kwong in Kesidang.Betty Chew, the wife of DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, will defend her Kota Laksamana seat. Koh Sze Choon, will contest in Klebang.

The other DAP newcomers are Teh Kok Kiew (Bandar Hilir), Damian Yeo (Duyong), Khoo Poey Tiong (Ayer Keroh) and Ho Kia Kim (Bemban).
