Most of us would have received sms messages regarding the current general election (news, jokes, rumours, etc, etc...)
I over-heard (not sure how true this news is) that one of my neighbour's son was stopped by police during the weekend, who checked his handphone for "rumoured" sms messages. They found one (or some) and he was fined RM100. Eventhough he argued that he was not the one who sent these sms, but they said that if his handphone contained these "rumoured" messages he will still be fined.
- Does the police have the right to check your hand phone's smses?
- Is there a "law" that states such thing, being fined for receiving and having these smses in your handphone?
- Did anyone else face a similar situation as my neighbour's son?
Hope someone would enlighten me on this issue.
