Music Practice (26.6.2008)

I enjoyed music practice last night. It was different than previous weeks.. months... maybe more. The sound system, was sounding more like a sound system.

The bass guitar sounded wonderful. We can get rid of the old bass monitor, which sounds flat. (Bass is now sharing, monitor with the drums). Got that extra kick for me to play the bass, passion to play is coming back. Wonderful, so wonderful... Now can I play the guitar or not?

Song leader David and the choir gave their 'positive' feedback last night, they can now hear themselves and it sounded much much better.

The congregation too responded well to the 'new' sound setup last Sunday.

Thank you Andrew Coomby for your help, professionalism and passion.

He does things so fast and efficient. Yes we are improving in the sound department, but we are not there yet. There are still much to be done to improve our worship.

Andrew told the singers last night to sing as they would when they are worshiping, eventhough it was just a practice for Sunday. I totally agree with him. Even during practice lets worship the Lord, sing and play with all your heart.

New wine... i.e, improvement of the sound system, in-ear monitor, new musicians, singers...

Matthew 9:17
Nor do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins burst, the wine runs out, and the skins are ruined. Rather, people pour new wine into fresh skins, and both are saved.”

Andelewwwww.... Not new bass monitor, but sharing with the drum monitor. Sound soooo much better than the old junk.

You want to know more, come for worship this Sunday :-p

Same bass guitar, Andrew Ling's one, thanks for letting us use it for a while.

You said it Daniel. Don't look at it as a practice. We'll all get there together. Last night I saw everyone smiling... that's enjoyment. That's how we'll all open up to let the spirit flow through us. We need to focus on team work. Encouraging and constructively helping each other improve.

Next is more inputs for the mixer and I think it's time for new mics for the vocalists. Hmmm... and how about a little reverb to moisten the vocals?

Next challenge for me is that JaredL has agreed to start playing the guitar if I start playing the sax for worship... We'll see about this...
