10 more minutes before the price of fuel increases. What happens to those in queue and still have not manage to pump their fuel? Do they pay the new rate once the clock strikes 12 midnight? The queues will be drastically reduced once it is 12 midnight.
It took me 1 and 1/2 hours to reach home from PJ after music practise. Usually it will take me around 1/2 hour. There was a jam on the KL-Seremban highway, after turning off from the Connaught highway from PJ.
Rows of cars were lining up to enter the petrol station before Desa Petaling, and an even longer line of vehicles entering Desa Petaling. Why is that, I assume there is a petrol station at that area once you turn off into Desa Petaling.
Every petrol staion I passed there were long queues.
Entering Sungai Long and Bandar Mahkota Cheras was mad. The reason is that the Shell petrol station is just before the entrance to Bandar Sungai Long. Imagine the jam, any residencial area with a petrol station at the entrance will face a similar problem.

Silas and Rach used the Connaught higway, and the jam stated after the 50cents toll. This is most likely due to the Connaught pasar malam and that there is a BHP petrol station in Connaught next right to the highway opposite the pasar malam.
My mum just came back from Seremban, and same problem, long queues at all the petrol stations she passed.
All this thanks to the Government for increasing the price of fuel effective midnight on 5.6.2008.
Good morning... it is tomorrow (5.6.2008), after midnight and I can see the queue is still there at the Shell petrol station. Guess they will still enjoy the old rate?

Yup.
America is partly to be blamed for the global petrol price hike. It has been rising since the war on Iraq. No thanks to Bush for Beating Up Saddam Hussein.
Here in Malaysia? No need to say lah. Corruption, bad governance and stupid projects like sending tourist to the space have caused us to be in deeper sh*t.
Govt says no money. The govt money is the rakyat's money. We pay taxes.
From MalaysiaKini feedback
Tan, Joseph K: If the government would like to make fuel price as per the market price, firstly, it needs to reduce import taxes and excise duties for all passenger car to comply with the Japan- Malaysia FTA.
At least, Malaysia can opt for cheaper hybrid cars which are good in fuel efficiency. And pay back to Malaysians the inflated taxes already imposed on car owners.
