'Jumbo Hostel': Boeing 747 converted into lodging

A Boeing 747 aircraft in Sweden is being converted into the world's first 'Jumbo Hostel.' Operators are already accepting bookings and plan to open to guests in mid January. By Bertil Ericson, AFP/Getty Images

STOCKHOLM — When you exit Arlanda Airport on the highway toward Stockholm, you'll see a Boeing 747 on your left that looks curiously out of place.

Swedish entrepreneur Oscar Dios is seen in one of the rooms on the former Pan-Am 747 that is being converted for guests. The hostel will feature 25 rooms with three beds in each and a suite in the upper deck cockpit area. By Niklas Larsson, AP Photo
