For the past umpteenth days (or rather, months), toll concessionaire Grand Saga had been building a barricade, forcing Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC) residents to travel additional 6km in order to pass through the toll plaza on the Cheras-Kajang Highway (CKH), whenever BMC residents need to travel to Kuala Lumpur City.

This blog gave suggestions to use alternate toll free road to avoid paying the 90 cents toll.

KUALA LUMPUR: Tensions ran high at Bandar Mahkota, Cheras, when hundreds of residents gathered to remove a barricade which was rebuilt early yesterday to prevent access into the area.

Four people were arrested in the incident.

AN unfamiliar group turned up as “observers” as workers from Grand Saga Sdn Bhd, the concessionaire of the Cheras-Kajang highway, reconstructed the barrier at the access road in Bandar Mahkota Cheras yesterday.

Residents who were monitoring the work done by the workers said they were surprised by the presence of this third group.

THE confrontation between highway concessionaire Grand Saga Sdn Bhd and residents in Bandar Makhota Cheras reached bloody heights yesterday when a group of 15 unidentified men assaulted demonstrators with wooden sticks and bike helmets.
